AMHERST, N.Y. - Graduate student Sullivan Keller (Alden, N.Y.) of Daemen College has been named the East Coast Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for competitions held April 19-25. The official announcement of weekly awards was made this afternoon in the ECC's weekly sport report. It marks the third time in Keller's career that he's earned the recognition.

Keller eclipsed his own program record in the shot put while competing at the University at Buffalo Twilight Invitational last Friday. His final throw of the day netted a distance of 15.06 meters, breaking the previous mark of 14.81 meters which he had set at last month's UB Mid-Week Invitational. His throw Friday placed him fourth among the shot put competitors.

Keller also competed in the hammer throw and javelin last week. He posted distances of 45.40 meters in the hammer throw and 50.91 meters in the javelin, placing second in limited fields for both.

Keller is a 10-time All-ECC honoree. In addition to his program record for the outdoor shot put, he holds benchmarks for outdoor hammer throw (49.20 meters), indoor weight throw (15.42 meters) and indoor shot put (15.15 meters). Including the Wildcats' lone indoor meet this season, he's set four new records in just four total meets this season.

Keller will look to add to his All-ECC collection this weekend when he and the Wildcats compete at the ECC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The meet is hosted by Roberts Wesleyan College and it gets underway at 9 a.m. this Saturday, May 1.
