HIGHLIGHTS
- Clementi was one of five Daemen entrants in the 1,500 meter run and he placed ninth out of 56 runners with a school record time of 4:06.54—eclipsing the previous standard of 4:09.49 set by Ethan Dinan during the 2011 Raider Open hosted by Roberts Wesleyan College. It marked just the second time in Clementi's collegiate career that he has run the 1,500 meters. He first ran it at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational this past April and posted a time of 4:14.35.
- Sophomore Jon Moote (Wilson, N.Y.) also ran the 1,500 meters and placed 18th with a time of 4:13.8—which ranks as the sixth fastest 1,500 time in program history. Moote also owns the third (4:09.91) fourth (4:12.49) fastest times in program history. Freshman Nolan Robillard (Hamburg, N.Y.) and sophomores Connor O'Brien (Hamburg, N.Y.) and Laertes Cushing (Alfred, N.Y.) also ran the 1,500 meters. - Matthews, who has set two school records this spring, completed in three events today and posted a top-10 finish in all three. He placed sixth out of 15 in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.11 seconds—narrowly missing the school record (16.09) he set earlier this season at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational. He placed first out of 23 runners in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 56.49 seconds—once again narrowly missing the school record (56.43) he set last week at the University at Buffalo Invitational. Matthews now owns the top seven times in program history for the 110 meter hurdles and the top eight times in program history for the 400 meter hurdles.
- Matthews capped his day by finishing fourth out the 29 entrants in the long jump with a personal best leap of 6.60 meters. It ranks as the second longest jump in program history, just behind the record of 6.67 meters set by Shaquille Corrica in 2018.
