Week Of Honors: Men's Volleyball Team Awards

As part of the Wildcat Week of Honors, Daemen College head men's volleyball coach Don Gleason announced his team's awards for the 2020 season today. The Wildcat Week of Honors is being held May 4-8 as a way to virtually celebrate the accomplishments of Daemen's teams and student-athletes.

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER

Appeared in 16 of the team's 19 matches, and 57 of a possible 70 sets
Led the team in kills per set (3.25) and finished second in total kills with 185
Totaled 36 kills - the most for any Division I/II player in a single match this season - while leading Daemen to a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Lincoln Memorial on Feb. 9
Named the Independent Teams Player of the Week and National Opposite of the Week by Off The Block
Daemen Student-Athlete of the Month for February 2020
Named to the Off the Block All-Independent Team

MOST IMPROVED PLAYER

Appeared in 10 of the team's 19 matches and 34 total sets
Diversified his on-court abilities by playing multiple positions throughout the year
Contributed 25 kills and 24 digs

WILDCAT AWARD

Appeared in 14 of the team's 19 matches and 47 total sets
Finished fourth on the team with 62 kills, good for a 1.32 kills per set average
Also finished third on the team with 11 service aces; established a new single match team record with five aces vs. Medaille on Feb. 23
Led the team in digs per set (1.57), totaling 74
