Dolan, who will enter his seventh year as Daemen's head women's soccer coach this year, accepted the dual role this spring, alligning Daemen with a staffing model common within the East Coast Conference. In so doing, Daemen becomes the fifth school in the league to employ a single individual as head coach for both its men's and women's soccer programs. Dolan will look to carry over the success that the women's program has seen under his leadership. The veteran coach has led the program to an average of 10 wins per season since taking the helm in 2009, including four-straight double-figure win seasons from 2010-13. Dolan takes over for Mark Spacone who led the men's program through the initial stages of Daemen's NCAA Division II transition. That included a program-record five wins vs. NCAA Division II opponents in 2014. "Appointing Dan Dolan to Head Soccer Coach provides continuity and consistency to our men's soccer program that greatly improved under Mark Spacone's leadership," said Director of Athletics Bridget Niland at the time of Dolan's appointment. "Coach Dolan brings his own skill set to the men's team and simultaneously understands the philosophy that Coach Spacone instituted on that team which fostered its success. Daemen aims to build a successful NCAA Division II soccer program and Dolan's appointment is part of that process." Dolan originally came to Daemen as the third women's soccer coach in school history, having been named to that post on March 6, 2009. Before joining the Daemen staff, Dolan spent one year as the lead assistant coach at Niagara University in 2008, where he helped lead them to a 12-6-1 record. Prior to coaching at Niagara, Dolan spent the previous six years as head coach of the boys' varsity soccer team at Cardinal O'Hara High School, where he also coached the girls' varsity team in 2004. Dolan currently has his National "C" License, National Youth License from U.S. Soccer Federation, the National and Advanced National Diploma from NSCAA, English FA Psychology for Soccer - Level 1 and the NYSW Intermediate certificate. He also holds coaching experience at the Olympic Development level since 2009 and has also been with the premier club Empire United Buffalo since 2004. Dolan is also the founder of Top Level Soccer, a soccer training company providing skill instruction to youth soccer players since 2005. He has also previously served the Daemen Athletic Department as the Director of Facilities, a position he held from 2012-14. A native of North Tonawanda, N.Y., Dolan is single and now resides in Amherst. DAN DOLAN QUICK FACTS Born Daniel Thomas Dolan, Jr. May 14, 1982 North Tonawanda, N.Y.
