Monica Kosior (Grimsby, Ont./Canisius College) connected on 12-of-15 shots and scored a career-high 26 points to lead the Daemen College women's basketball team to a 77-66 victory over Roberts Wesleyan College here tonight.
It marked the first road game of the season for Daemen, which improved to 8-1 on the year. Roberts Wesleyan suffered its first loss and dropped to 2-1. RWC is a member of the NCAA Division II East Coast Conference, which Daemen will join next year.

Chelsea Andorka (Canton, Ohio/Notre Dame College) added 21 points, 10 rebounds and five assists for the Wildcats. She now stands just 23 points shy of 1,000 for her career. Senior Brittany Williams (Rochester, N.Y.) and freshman Samantha Courtney (Marathon, N.Y.) both netted 13 points for RWC.
Three of RWC's first four buckets were from three-point range, as the Redhawks built an early 11-3 lead. Back-to-back three-pointers by Stoddard cut the lead to two points, but the Redhawks responded with a 17-4 run over the next six minutes. A layup by sophomore Marissa Sell (Brockport, N.Y.) capped the run and gave the hosts a 28-13 lead with nine minutes left in the half.
Daemen regrouped following a timeout and outscored the Redhawks 13-0 over the next 3:40. An inside bucket by Kosior with 5:20 left before the break capped the rally and cut the RWC lead to two points, 28-26. The Wildcats later took a 31-30 lead following Stoddard's third three-pointer of the half with 3:35 left before halftime. The teams traded baskets the rest of the half and RWC took a 34-33 lead into intermission.
The teams traded baskets at the start of the second half and RWC held a 38-37 lead when the Wildcats put together an 8-1 run. Back-to-back baskets by Kosior capped the spurt and gave Daemen a 45-39 lead. A conventional three-point play by Kosior with nine minutes left gave Daemen a 55-48 lead, and the Wildcats later took a 60-51 lead following a layup by Kosior with 7:39 remaining.
RWC responded by outscoring the Wildcats 8-2 over the next three minutes, but Daemen answered with seven straight points and took a 69-59 lead when freshman
Raeann Stilwell (Lancaster, N.Y./St. Mary's of Lancaster) drained a three-pointer off a feed from Stoddard with 3:19 left. RWC came no closer than seven points the rest of the way.
Daemen shot 50-percent (18-36) from the field in the second half and was 32-for-77 (42%) overall—including a 7-for-17 clip from three-point land. The Wildcats pulled down 16 offensive rebounds and posted a dominating 50-35 edge in rebounding. Daemen also handed out 22 assists and committed just nine turnovers.
RWC shot 37-percent (26-for-70) from the field and connected on 7-of-21 three-pointers.
Daemen will travel to Scranton, Pa. to face Penn State Worthington Scranton tomorrow (Nov. 16) at 6 p.m.
