Wildcats Suffer Setback For 2nd Straight Day

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Daemen College men's tennis team suffered its second loss in as many days today, falling 8-1 to LeMoyne College of NCAA Division II and the Northeast-10 Conference.

Freshman Gregory Lowe (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) was the lone bright spot for Daemen again as he bested LeMoyne's Shane Evans 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 1 singles slot.  It was the second straight win for Lowe in that spot as he took down Thiel College's Richard Parks 6-2, 6-3 yesterday.

Sophomore Brad Casper (Marion, N.Y./Marion Central) pushed his first set to a tiebreak at No. 5 singles but eventally fell to the Dolphins' Blaine Drake.

Casper then teamed with junior Mike Obermeier (Depew, N.Y./Depew) in the No. 2 doubles slot and nearly came up with another point for the Wildcats, falling 8-6 to LeMoyne's Michael Green and Daryl Johnson.

With the loss, Daemen drops to 1-4 while LeMoyne (1-6) picked up its first win of the season.

The Wildcats return to action with a 4 p.m. match on Saturday (Mar. 2) at Edinboro University.
