Box Score SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Daemen College men's soccer team couldn't keep the momentum rolling from their season-opening come-from-behind win on Saturday, falling today to perennial east region powerhouse Le Moyne College 4-0 at Ted Grant Field. With the loss, Daemen drops to 1-1 on the young season while LC improves to 3-0.
The Dolphins' Zachary MacNabb got the host on the board in the 11th minute when he punched in a header after a long crossing feed from Jaime Carolissen off a corner kick.
It looked as if the deficit would remain at just one for Daemen heading into halftime, but Le Moyne's Fabian Egger also notched in a header but this time off a throw in pass from teammate Adam Resetarits which put the Dolphins up 2-0 in the 31st minute.
The Dolphins struck early in the second half when Anthony Scaravillo netted the ball into the top right of the goal after a cross pass from Gino Corasaniti in the 50
th minute. Le Moyne added a late goal from Ethan Gunty off a pass from Trevor Creedon in the 76th minute to provide the final margin.
Matt Daddario (Amherst, N.Y./Sweet Home) made nine saves between the pipes for the Wildcats. His counterpart, Ben Beaury, earned his third straight shutout of the season.
Daemen will look to get back in the win column when they host Slippery Rock University for their home opener at Dimp Wagner Stadium on Saturday, September 13 at 3 p.m. Slippery Rock went 13-4-3 last season and captured the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championship and this will mark the first time that Daemen has squared off against The Rock.
