AMHERST, N.Y. - Daemen Athletics is pleased to announce that the establishment of a new tradition with the launch of Midday Madness presented by Buffalo Lodging and Collegiate Village, a promotional event planned to get the Daemen College community primed and ready for the upcoming basketball season. The event is slated for Thursday, October 29 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in Lumsden Gymnasium on campus.
The event is open to Daemen College students, faculty and staff and will feature mini-practices and intra-squad scrimmages for both the Daemen men's and women's basketball teams. Head coaches
Mike MacDonald and David Skolen will be mic'd up for the event, and will engage with the audience as their respective teams progess through various drills.
In addition, there will be raffles, giveaways and prizes, and Daemen Athletics is providing free pizza (while supplies last) for lunch in the Lumsden Gymnasium atrium. Basketball coaches and players will also be filming on-camera interviews in the atrium with questions from the audience.
There will also be a performance by the Daemen College step team, and Daemen Athletics will recognize continuing student-athletes who achieved Dean's List honors for the spring 2015 semester.
All-in-all, it's shaping up to be an incredibly fun event, and Daemen Athletics invites you to take a midday break from your activities, and come join in on the madness!
