Lagno Announces Change To Men's & Women's Cross Country Slate

AMHERST, N.Y. - The Daemen College men's and women's cross country teams will not compete as originally scheduled at the Hamilton College Invitational this Saturday, October 10, head coach Paul Lagno announced today.

With several athletes struggling with nagging injuries, the first-year head coach believes both teams will experience a benefit from a week without racing as he keeps the bigger picture in mind with both teams gearing up for the East Coast Conference Championships later this month.

Both teams have raced in each of the last three weeks.  The women's team has been especially impressive, debuting last week in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Regional Rankings as the No. 6 ranked team in the East Region for NCAA Division II.

With today's schedule change announced, the Wildcats will return to racing at the Canisius Alumni Classic on Saturday, October 17.  That meet, hosted by Canisius College, takes place in Delaware Park, less than six miles from the Daemen campus.
