WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - The Daemen College women's bowling team swept a three-match night versus Thiel College tonight at Transit Lanes, running their overall record to 7-10 in the team's inaugural season of competition.
Daemen downed the visiting TC Tomcats, 706-665 in the opening match of the night, paced by the 189-game of redshirt-freshman

The Wildcats went on to win tonight's second match, 678-640. Â True freshman
Jess Cunningham (Watervliet, N.Y./Watervliet) led Daemen with a 170 in the second match.
Cunningham paced the Wildcats with a 169.5 average in the two team-style matches tonight, followed by O'Hara's average of 168. Â Sophomore
Julianna Brnik (Cheektowaga, N.Y./West Seneca East) chipped in with a 140 average in the pair of Daemen wins.
The highlight of the night came in the third match, a Baker-style, best-of-seven series which was won by Daemen, 4-3. Â Thiel opened with a 142-138 edge in the opening game, but Daemen went on to win three-straight (161-139, 158-147, 150-147) to take control. Â The Tomcats rebounded with wins in the fifth (122-117) and sixth (152-124) games, sending the match to a winner-take-all seventh frame. Â Daemen came out on top, 181-123 in the frame, to win the match.
O'Hara (11.71 pins per frame) and Brnik (10.5 pins per frame) paced the Wildcats in the Baker-style match.
The matches tonight conclude the fall portion of Daemen's 2015-16 schedule. Â The Wildcats resume play on February 2, 2016 versus Medaille College.
