Volleyball Program To Host Youth Clinic Series

AMHERST, N.Y. - Daemen College Head Women's Volleyball Coach Bob Maxwell, together with Associate Head Coach Stephanie Albano and Assistant Coach Kaley Vazquez, announced today that the Daemen Volleyball program will host the Junior Wildcat Winter Clinic Series this March.

The Junior Wildcat Winter Clinic Series is a weekly hour-and-a-half long camp designed to teach the fundamentals of volleyball, including passing, setting, serving, digging and spiking to boys and girls in grades 4-8.  No prior volleyball experience is required, and the camp will run each Thursday in the month of March (beginning March 3, ending March 31 for a total of five sessions) from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

The Junior Wildcat Winter Clinic Series will be held in Lumsden Gymnasium, the home venue of the Wildcats' volleyball team.

Each session will be conducted by Maxwell and his staff, one of the most talented and experienced coaching staffs in the area.  Maxwell recently completed his first season on the Daemen sidelines, and he's the all-time leader in wins at the University at Buffalo (UB), coaching there for 18 seasons.  Albano played collegiately in the Atlantic Coast Conference at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and has coached locally at Canisius College, Medaille College and UB before coming to Daemen last fall.  Vazquez is a 2014 Daemen graduate, and she led the Wildcats to a 90-53 record as the team's top setter during her four-year career, finishing ranked third all-time in assists.

Cost of attendance is $75 for all five sessions, and each registrant will receive a Daemen Volleyball t-shirt.  Walk-up registrants are welcome at a cost of $20 per session.  Online registration is also available.
