AMHERST, N.Y. - Daemen College Head Men's Basketball Coach Mike MacDonald will host three separate basketball camps this summer for area youths on the Amherst campus.  Two traditional week-long sessions and a one-night weekly session will be offered MacDonald announced today.

The first week-long session will run from July 11-15, followed by a session seesion, August 8-12.  The camp hours are from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. with early drop-off and late pick-up available at no extra cost.

Week-long camp sessions are offered for boys ages 5-14 and the cost is $225 per week.  All campers will receive a "Wildcat Pack" that includes a reversible jersey, t-shirt, basketball and water bottle.  All two-week campers will receive an additional gift.

The week-long camp places a strong emphasis on all of the fundamentals, especially shooting, and there is a "mini-cats" league for campers 6-8 years old with smaller basketballs and special attention.  Family and team discounts are available.

In addition, MacDonald will also host Friday Night Hoops, a camp for boys entering grades 7-12, at Lumsden Gymnasium on the Daemen campus.  Friday Night Hoops will run every Friday night from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. from June 10 through August 5.  The cost of the Friday Night Hoops camp is $200 which includes a reversible jersey and the opportunity to participate in a practice-like setting with members of the Daemen coaching staff.  Members of the 2015-16 Daemen Wildcats as well as some of the top high school coaches in Western New York will also serve as counselors and guest lecturers.

Space in Friday Night Hoops is limited to maximize the learning experience.
