PENN YAN, N.Y. - The Daemen College men's golf team capped the spring portion of its 2015-16 schedule by placing first out of eight teams at the Keuka Spring Invitational here today. The one-day event was hosted by Keuka College and took place at Lakeside County Club.
Daemen had three golfers finish in the Top-10 and claimed the team championship with a score of 317, eight strokes ahead of second-place SUNY Cobleskill (325). Keuka's "A" team placed third (326), while Penn College (337), Morrisville State College (342) and Oswego State (342) rounded out the top-five.
Daemen sophomores Mark Lesinski (Getzville, N.Y./Williamsville North) and Pauley Pitcher II (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Charles W. Baker) tied for individual medalist honors along with Darren Young of Morrisville State. All three players carded a four-over-par 76. It marked the 19th time Lesinski has posted a round in the 70's, while Pitcher tied his career low round.
Sophomore Max Winterburn (Harrogate, England) also placed in the Top-10, as he carded an 81 and finished tied for eighth. Sophomore Mitch Feneziani (West Seneca, N.Y./West Seneca West) also competed for Daemen and finished tied for 17th with an 84.
