AMHERST, N.Y. -
Jenepher Banker, the newly-appointed head women's basketball coach at Daemen College, announced today the signing of Jordan Heinold (Hamburg, N.Y./Immaculata) to a National Letter of Intent. Heinold, a 6-foot guard/forward, will join the program when enrolling in classes for the Fall 2016 semester, and will link up with her sister,
Taylor Heinold (Hamburg, N.Y./Immaculata), a 5-foot-10 guard who will be entering her junior season for the Wildcats.
The younger Heinold comes to Daemen after earning four varsity letters in basketball while competing for the Immaculata Bears and coach Andrea Drabik. A three-time team M.V.P., Heinold leaves Immaculata as its all-time leading scorer with 1,569 points, breaking the previous mark of 1,341 points set by her sister.
She earned fourth-team All-Western New York honors as sophomore, third-team honors as a junior, and second-team honors this past year when she averaged 22.8 points and 15.0 rebounds per game. She also earned Player of the Year honors this past season from the
Hamburg Sun, and was previously selected as one of the top 50 players in N.Y. State by the Basketball Coaches Association of N.Y. (BCANY).
An honor roll student, Heinold will major in Accounting at Daemen.
She joins a Wildcat team which is coming off a 9-17 season, including a 7-13 mark in East Coast Conference play which had them in contention for a conference tournament berth until the final weekend of the regular season. The Wildcats are set to return 10 players to their roster next season, including first-team All-ECC pick
Sarah Saba (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster).
