In fact, each of the top-five ranked teams from the preseason poll remained the same today.  American International College of the Northeast-10 Conference experienced the most drastic change, going from unranked in the preseason poll up to No. 6 this week. Daemen opened the season on September 3 by repeating as the team champions at the Le Moyne Alumni Short Course Invitational, despite top runner Mackenzie Donahue (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) sitting out the event.  Junior Amy Trabert (Amherst, N.Y./Amherst) paced the field of 50 runners with a course-record time of 16:20.51 at the short, 4K event.  She shaved 43 seconds off her fourth-place finish time of last year and registered her first career first-place finish. Senior Hannah Rice (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora). who won the Le Moyne event last year with a then course-record time of 16:39.87, placed third this year with a time of 16:30.18.  Newcomer Rebekah Zee (East Aurora, N.Y./Slippery Rock University) rounded out the top-five with a time of 17:24.09. After being idle last week, Daemen returns to racing this Saturday, September 17 at the Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational.
