79 Student-Athletes Named To Fall 2016 Dean's List

AMHERST, N.Y. - Dr. Michael Brogan, vice president for academic affairs and dean of Daemen College, recently announced the students who have achieved Dean's List status at the college for the Fall 2016 semester.  Among the honorees were 79 student-athletes, representing 42 percent of Daemen's student-athlete body.

The Dean's List at Daemen College is comprised of matriculated undergraduate students who attain a grade point average of 3.30 in any one semester, provided the student has been enrolled for twelve credit hours of course work, nine of which must be in course work which utilizes the letter grade scale. Dean's List students receive a Dean's List Certificate which recognizes their superior scholarship and are named in a national register of Dean's Lists.

In a separate announcement earlier this month regarding the overall academic performance of Daemen's nearly 200 student-athletes, director of athletics Bridget Niland stated, "We have set the goal of building an athletics program that helps our student-athletes become the very best versions of themselves in the classroom and on their chosen field of competition.  Our student-athletes continue to show that they bring more to the table than just athletic prowess. The ability to balance their academic workload with the commitment they've made to their coaches and teammates is a skill which transcends being a student-athlete, and one that will be applied in their post-college lives as the future leaders of our communities."

The number of student-athlete honorees is up from 65 at the conclusion of the Spring 2016 semester.  All student-athletes who achieved Dean's List status last semester will be recognized at halftime of the women's basketball game vs. the University of Bridgeport on Thursday, February 2.  Below is a list of the 79 student-athletes who made Dean's List for the Fall 2016 semester...
