The 2017-18 campaign is the third for women's bowling as a varsity sport at Daemen. After posting a 14-31 overall record in the team's inaugural season, head coach David Zajac led the group to a two-win improvement in his first season on job as the Wildcats went 16-25. Atop the poll sits Adelphi University which garnered nine of the 10 available first-place votes to finish with 99 points. The Panthers have claimed the last two ECC championships, and they open the season ranked No. 15 in the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Preseason Top 25 poll which includes teams from across all three NCAA divisions. Lincoln Memorial University came in second in the poll with 77 points. The Lady Railsplitters begin the season receiving votes in the NTCA Preseason Top 25 poll, and are ranked No. 6 in the NTCA Division II/III poll.
