For Communications Roginson Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors AMHERST, N.Y. - Daemen College runner Kevin Roginson (Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville North) has been named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Men's Cross Country All-Academic Team for NCAA Division II as announced today from that organization's headquarters in New Orleans, La. The All-Academic Team honor was awarded to those athletes who have compiled a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.25 and finished among the top 30 percent of eligible runners at their respective regional championships and/or the top half of the field at the NCAA Championships. Roginson, a 5-foot-10 junior who majors in Global and Local Sustainability, has excelled academically in his time at Daemen while also running to a sixth-place finish (out of 169 runners) at the East Region Championship meet last fall. Roginson completed the 10K course at the Hopkinton (N.H.) Fairgrounds in 31:54.6, finishing one position out of an individual berth to the NCAA Championships. It marked his fifth top-10 finish of the season (out of seven total races) and was the best-ever individual finish by a Daemen runner at the East Region Championship meet. Roginson, who also competes for the Daemen indoor and outdoor track and field teams, finished fifth at the East Coast Conference Championship meet last fall as well. He was named to the all-conference and all-region first team. For continuing coverage of the Daemen men's cross country team, follow @DaemenAthletics and @DaemenXC on Twitter.
