For Communications Donahue, Trabert Grab All-Region Honors AMHERST, N.Y. - Daemen College track and field standouts Mackenzie Donahue (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) and Amy Trabert (Amherst, N.Y./Amherst) were among the athletes to receive NCAA Division II All-Region honors as announced by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association from the organization's headquarters in New Orleans, La. The top-five individuals in each event from each of the eight NCAA Division II regions (Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West) earned the All-Region distinction. Donahue, a 5-foot-2 senior, earned the accolade in both the 10,000-meter and 5,000-meter distances for the second-straight season. She has placed herself in contention for an invitation to compete at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championship meet in the 10,000-meter run. She posted a school-record time of 35:35.11 at that distance earlier this season at the Brockport Invitational, which at the time ranked as the top performance in the country among Division II runners. She went on to win the 10,000-meter race at the East Coast Conference Championship meet on April 22, posting a meet-record time of 38:31.11. At the 5,000-meter distance, Donahue raced twice this season finishing first both times. She opened the season by winning the 5,000-meter run at the Geneseo Early Spring Invitational on April 2, posting a time of 17:39.56. She went on to win this race at the conference championship meet as well, posting a time of 17:15.80, just five seconds off the school-record time she registered at the Penn Relays Carnival in 2016. Like Donahue, Trabert earned All-Region honors for the 10,000-meter distance for the second-straight season. She finished second behind Donahue at Brockport on April 14, crossing the finish line in 37:48.78, some three minutes faster than the third-place finisher. Trabert, a 5-foot-3 junior, went on to finish third at this distance at the conference championship meet, posting a time of 40:17.80.
