For Communications Summer Track Series Dates Announced Daemen Partnering With Lawley Insurance To Bring Community Event Back To Sweet Home High School This Summer AMHERST, N.Y. - Dates for the 2017 Daemen Athletics Summer Track Series presented by Lawley Insurance were announced today as the community event returns to Sweet Home High School this summer. The series, which is in its second year, has been expanded from four nights to seven, running each Thursday evening from July 6 through August 17. "This idea really took off last summer with our inaugural Summer Track Series, and we're excited to once again be providing a great activity for runners of all ages in Western New York," said Director of Athletics Bridget Niland. "We must thank Lawley Insurance for their interest in becoming the presenting sponsor of the series, something that further showcases their commitment to the Buffalo-Niagara Region. And, this wouldn't be possible without the relationship we've developed with the Sweet Home Central School District. We're proud to be hosting these events on one of the finest tracks that the area has to offer." Meets are slated for July 6, July 13, July 20, July 27, August 3, August 10 and August 17, and each one is open to any and all interested participants, regardless of age or running experience. Events include a one-mile run, two-mile run, 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash, 800-meter run and a 4x400-meter relay race. There's also a 100-meter dash for kids as well. Participants will have the opportunity to compete for prizes in the "Premier Event of the Night" which will change weekly. A registration fee of $10 per participant per night will allow each runner to compete in as many of the night's races as desired. Registration will be done on a walk-up basis each week, beginning at 5:30 p.m. with the start time slated for 6:15 p.m. Registration takes place adjacent to the track itself, located behind Sweet Home High School at 1901 Sweet Home Road.
