To be considered for ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, student-athletes must achieve a grade-point average of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale for the entire 2016-17 academic year. The three Daemen honorees were among 781 from NCAA Division II programs. The ITA Scholar-Athlete program covers all levels of collegiate competition, from Division I to junior college. "Congratulations to Ricardo, James and Mark on this well deserved academic achievement," said head coach Stephen Beatty. "These three student-athletes have really set the bar high for our team. We just missed out on having the entire team honored with All-Academic Team honors this year. I'm looking forward to the continued success in the classroom of our entire team, and we've certainly set a goal to be recognized in the team category next year."
