Men's Basketball Conference Schedule Announced

mbb 2017-18 league schedule

Men's Basketball | 8/16/2017 11:00:00 AM

AMHERST, N.Y. - The Daemen College men's basketball team faces a stiff test to begin league play as defending East Coast Conference champion St. Thomas Aquinas College visits Lumsden Gymnasium on Friday, December 8, head coach Mike MacDonald announced today as part of the team's 18-game ECC slate for the 2017-18 season.

"Our fans should be real excited to watch the high caliber of Division II basketball that playing in the East Coast Conference provides," said MacDonald who enters his fourth season on the Daemen bench, and his 21st overall as a collegiate head coach.  "We hope to be playing our best basketball by the time February rolls around because we know it's always difficult to qualify for the ECC Tournament."

Today's announcement comes shortly after MacDonald announced the team's 10-game non-conference schedule, and an exhibition tilt at Division I University at Buffalo. The Wildcats are coming off a 19-9 season in 2016-17 - the program's sixth consecutive year with at least 19 wins.  In the four seasons since Daemen joined the ECC, the Wildcats rank second in the league in total wins, compiling an 80-36 record in that span, including a 56-22 mark in league play.
