Halpern, a 6-foot-2 senior at Williamsville North High School, has signed a National Letter of Intent, and he will enroll in classes and join the program beginning in the Fall 2018 semester. "Im very excited to have Kevin joining our team," said Harman, a 2013 Daemen graduate who is in his first season as the team's head coach. "With his talent and strong work ethic, he is going to be an integral part of our team in the seasons to come." Halpern comes to Daemen after earning four varsity letters for the Williamsville North Spartans and coach John Burns. In that time, he's helped the Spartans capture four consecutive Erie County Interscholastic Conference (ECIC) North Division Large School championships. Halpern has experienced his share of individual success on the links as well, including winning medalist honors at the 2017 Section VI Championship held at Gowanda Country Club. He went on to compete at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association State Championship tournament last June at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course at Cornell University where he finished tied for 69th out of 99 entrants. Halpern, who has already earned team MVP and All-ECIC honors during his senior season, will defend his Section VI championship on May 21 at River Oaks Golf Club in Grand Island. The son of Bruce and Karin Halpern of East Amherst, Kevin has been an Honor Roll student at Williamsville North, and he plans to major in International Business at Daemen. He'll join a men's golf program that competes as an NCAA Division II independent, and one that will be looking to replace three seniors - Mitch Feneziani (West Seneca, N.Y.), Pauley Pitcher II (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) and Max Winterburn (Harrogate, England) - all of whom have been staples of the Wildcats' lineup over the last four seasons.
