Dolan Adds Junior College Transfer To 2018 Recruiting Class

AMHERST, N.Y. - The Daemen College women's soccer team will gain the services of Alicia Nikolasevic (St. Thomas, Ont. / Monroe CC), a 5-foot-5 defender who signed a National Letter of Intent to join the program next season, head coach Dan Dolan announced today.

A two-time first team All-Region III selection at Monroe Community College, Nikolasevic helped lead the Lady Tribunes to a 27-6-3 record and a pair of regional championships in her two seasons. The Ontario native appeared in 36 games and made 35 starts for the Lady Tribunes, playing an integral role on a defense that allowed an average of just 0.8 goals per game in that span.

Prior to her stint at Monroe, Nikolasevic was a 2016 graduate of Parkside Collegiate Institute. While there, she earned three varsity letters in soccer for the Stampeders and coach Derek LeClair. A two-time team captain, Nikolasevic led the Stampeders to three straight Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association championships, and an Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations championship in 2016.

"Alicia comes in with good playing experience at a high level junior college program," said Dolan, the all-time winningest coach in team history who will enter his 10th season next fall. "She will give us some much needed depth in the back."

Nikolasevic is the latest signee in Dolan's 2018 recruiting class, joining a group of six high school signees whose commitments were announced in early February. She'll also join a Daemen defensive unit that returns three of their four starters as well as their top two goalkeepers. All together, the Wildcats will return nine of 11 starters from their 2017 team which went 9-7-1 marking the team's most successful season since 2013.
