Daemen University Athletics

Western New York's Premier Division II Team
Fearless, Integrity, Effort, Respect, Commitment, Excitement

In September of 2015, Daemen University
officially opened the Academic and Wellness Center, now the Scott Bieler College of Health Professions, located at 4433 Main Street.
The building, formerly the Northeast Family YMCA, was purchased by the College in 2013 and recently went through a $5.6 million refurbishment project to house state-of-the-art learning facilities for health-related academic programs, as well as recreational space for the college community.

GYMNASIUM: The Gymnasium serves primarily as a campus recreation hub, open to the college community for various activities throughout the day, as well as Daemen's expanding intramural program. The gymnasium also provides a satellite practice location for Daemen's intercollegiate athletics programs when the competition venue (Lumsden Gymnasium) is otherwise unavailable.

FITNESS CENTER: The Fitness Center, a 2,400-square-foot space, features nearly $200,000 in the latest equipment ranging from treadmills and elliptical machines to free weights and squat racks. The cardiovascular equipment is all wired for internet and cable television connections, and also features plugins for mobile devices. Open to the college community, the fitness center is designed for users with a range of athletic abilities as well as for strength and conditioning purposes for Daemen's student-athletes. Note, on those occasions the varsity athletes are receiving formal training from the Strength & Conditioning Coach, that equipment in use is unavailable until training is complete.

LOCKER ROOMS: Showers and lockers are available for use right outside the fitness center. Locks are not provided for use, and personal locks cannot be left on overnight. Please leave all gym bags and book bags in the locker room. Bags are not allowed inside fitness center. Daemen University is not responsible for stolen or lost items.

EQUIPMENT: Basketballs, volleyballs and soccer balls are all available to sign out but you must leave your Daemen student ID at the front desk along with signing in and out when the equipment is returned to the front desk. Damaged equipment may be subject to replacement fee.

FACILITY RENTALS: The gymnasium has served as a rental space for various groups through the years, including AAU basketball tournaments, jazz and dance teams, cheerleading teams, etc. If your group is interested in renting the facility, please call (716) 839-8385 for current pricing and availability.

PARKING: Parking is available in the Lot K situated directly behind the building with accessibility from Amherstdale Road.

MEMBERSHIPS: The AWC is not open to the public without the purchase of a membership. Memberships are currently available for $15/month for local community members. This membership grants access to the Fitness Center and locker rooms. It does NOT grant access to the gymnasium. Daemen Faculty, Staff, and Alumni receive a discounted rate of $8/month. All current Daemen students have free access. Additional membership details can be found HERE.
