Graduating Student-Athlete Profile: Ja'Veana Garnett

Leading up to Daemen University's commencement ceremonies this weekend, daemenwildcats.com is profiling several student-athletes who have completed their academic coursework and/or athletic eligibility.

Ja'Veana Garnett has been a three-year member of the Daemen cheerleading program. In that time, she helped the program gain solid footing following its elevation from club to varsity status. Garnett helped the Wildcats achieve first-place finishes in four of the five competitions during her career.

JG: Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Pre-Law.
JG: Definitely traveling to and from competitions with the cheer team.
JG: I never really had a first impression of Daemen. When arriving here, I made sure to keep an open mind. Over the years, I have found that the environment at Daemen is mostly friendly and outgoing.
JG: I will miss the ice cream from Wick.

JG: My biggest accomplishment is graduating. I had gotten sick to the point of hospitalization a few times and have also dealt with the loss of a few family members, and so much more.
JG: Iris Atherley. She taught me how to fight for what I want, so that I can get the most out of this world.
JG: I will be traveling to Bali and Thailand before going to law school.
JG: We often forget to step outside of ourselves and consider others, so always treat those around you with kindness.
