The announcement was made in a news release from the conference office, and it featured first team all-conference honorees Hannah Rice (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora), Mackenzie Donahue (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) and Toria Williams (Buffalo, N.Y./Medaille College). Additionally, Kailyn Szymanski (Lockport, N.Y./Lockport) and Amy Trabert (Amherst, N.Y./Amherst) garnered second team all-conference accolades. All those honored received recognition based on their performances at the 2015 ECC Indoor Track and Field Championships held last Saturday, Feb. 21 in Huntington, N.Y. The conference recognizes those who finish first and second in particular events with first team all-conference honors, while third- and fourth-place finishers are named second team all-ECC.The sophomore-duo of Rice and Donahue headline Daemen's all-conference recipients. Rice finished as the runner-up in the 800-meter run (2:23.44), finishing just off the pace set by race-winner Ashley Armand (2:22.59) of Queens College. Donahue finished second in the 3,000-meter run with a season-best time of 10:45.78. The all-conference accolades round out a solid indoor campaign for the second-year track stars who scored points in all three scored meets this season. Their first team all-ECC honors here come after the pair earned second team all-conference status for the Daemen women's cross country team last fall.Williams, a second team all-ECC performer during last year's indoor season, picked up first team honors this time around by virtue of her runner-up finish in the shot put. Williams' long toss of 12.81 meters made her one of just two athletes to reach the 12-meter distance with event-winner Shelby Frank of Georgian Court University the other (13.10 meters). It was a season-best throw for Williams whose previous long this winter was 12.47 meters at the season-opening Hamilton College Invitational on Jan. 31.Szymanski, a 5-foot-8 freshman sprinter, concluded a fine indoor season during her rookie year with a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter run. Her time of 1:00.63 was a season-best as she appears poised to break the one-minute barrier in the future. Meanwhile, her classmate Trabert set a new team record for the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:00.52. That time was good for fourth place.Daemen opens their 2015 outdoor season on Mar. 13-14 at the Coastal Carolina University Invitational in Conway, S.C.Print Friendly Version Players Mentioned Mackenzie Donahue 5' 4" Sophomore Hannah Rice 5' 7" Sophomore Toria Williams 5' 11" Sophomore Amy Trabert 5' 3" Freshman Kailyn Szymanski 5' 8" Freshman Players Mentioned Mackenzie Donahue 5' 4" Sophomore Hannah Rice 5' 7" Sophomore Toria Williams 5' 11" Sophomore Amy Trabert 5' 3" Freshman Kailyn Szymanski 5' 8" Freshman
