Week Of Honors: Female Newcomer of the Year

As part of the Wildcat Week of Honors, WKBW-Channel 7 sports reporter/anchor Jenna Callari virtually presented the Female Newcomer of the Year Award for the 2019-20 season today. The Wildcat Week of Honors is being held May 4-8 as a way to virtually celebrate the accomplishments of Daemen's teams and student-athletes.

Awarded annually to the female student-athlete who made the biggest impact during her first year competing for Daemen

2019-20 TRIATHLON ACHIEVEMENTS
Placed first in age group (sixth overall female) at the Finger Lakes Triathlon
Placed first in age group at the Deer Creek Fall Challenge
Placed 5th among NCAA Division II participants at the Central Regional Qualifier
Team's top finisher (10th overall) at the Trine Triple Sprint
Collegiate Triathlon National Championship qualifier and participant where she placed 23rd overall
Named Scholar All-American Honorable Mention by the College Triathlon Coaches Association

2019-20 TRACK & FIELD ACHIEVEMENTS
Competed in four different events in three meets during the indoor season
Placed 4th in the 3,000 meter run at the RIT Invitational
Placed 9th in the 3,000 meter run with a season-best time of 11:25.25 at the East Coast Conference Championship meet
