Week Of Honors: Male Newcomer of the Year

As part of the Wildcat Week of Honors, The Athletic senior writer Tim Graham virtually presented the Male Newcomer of the Year Award for the 2019-20 season today. The Wildcat Week of Honors is being held May 4-8 as a way to virtually celebrate the accomplishments of Daemen's teams and student-athletes.

Awarded annually to the male student-athlete who made the biggest impact during his first year competing for Daemen

2019-20 ACHIEVEMENTS
Competed in his first season for the Wildcats after earning his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University where he helped the Buckeyes men's volleyball team to two national championships
Helped the Wildcats double their win total from the team's inaugural season, finishing with 12 wins despite the season being cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic
Twice named the Off the Block/Frisco Mo Independent Teams Player of the Week; was also named the Off the Block National Opposite of the Week
Recorded a program-record 36 kills in a thrilling 3-2 win over Lincoln Memorial on Feb. 9; it went down as the highest single-match kill total for any Division I/II men's volleyball player this season
Finished the season with 185 kills, 3.25 kills per set (team leader), a .271 hitting percentage, 27 blocks and 1.25 digs per set
Named the men's volleyball team MVP
