Week Of Honors: C.L.A.W. Award

As part of the Wildcat Week of Honors, Daemen College distinguished alumna and nationally-renown sports medicine professional Sue Falsone virtually presented the C.L.A.W. Award for the 2019-20 season today. The Wildcat Week of Honors is being held May 4-8 as a way to virtually celebrate the accomplishments of Daemen's teams and student-athletes.

C.L.A.W. AWARD

Awarded annually to the senior student-athlete who best exemplifies the traits of character, leadership, academic achievement and work ethic

2016 & 2018 NCAA Tournament participant
2016 & 2018 East Coast Conference regular season champion / 2018 East Coast Conference Tournament champion
Past recipient of the Daemen Sports Medicine P.R.I.D.E. Award
2019 All-East Coast Conference Second Team
2019 Women's Volleyball Team MVP
Heavily involved with the Daemen Center for Allied and Unified Sport & Exercise (CAUSE) and Ability Matters in her hometown
Member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Athlete Mentorship Program
Natural/Health Sciences major who carries above a 3.0 GPA

It would have been easy for Courtney to give up on school, sport and hope, but with the support of this department, she was able to not only persevere but to thrive. Courtney is the exemplification, for me at least, of the power of our community and of what a C.L.A.W. Award winner should represent. She is always working for the good of others, of those in need and constantly puts the team before herself.
