Keem Becomes First-Ever All-ECC Honoree For Daemen Men's Soccer

AMHERST, N.Y. - Noah Keem (Amherst, N.Y.) of the Daemen College men's soccer team has been named a third-team All-East Coast Conference selection, announced today in a press release from the conference office in West Babylon, New York. The All-ECC teams were selected by the league's 10 head coaches, and Keem becomes the first Daemen player in team history to garner All-ECC recognition.

Keem, a freshman forward/defender, put together a fantastic rookie season while leading Daemen to records of 7-11 (overall) and 3-6 (ECC). The team's overall win total matched the program record for wins in a season established in 2005 and 2006, and their ECC win total marked the most league wins in a season in team history.

"I'm very happy for Noah, and I feel that the recognition is well deserved," said Daemen head coach Bobby McColl who recently completed his second season at the helm. "Noah has shown great versatility this season, and he's very much a team-oriented player. Hopefully this will be the first of many awards this team receives as it continues to grow and improve."

Keem finished the season with team-highs of nine goals and 22 points (also added four assists). He's the first Daemen player with at least nine goals and 20 points since Kyle Clifford in 2013 (10 gls, 22 pts). Keem finished the season as the top freshman scorer in the ECC, and he ranked among the overall league leaders in goals (7th), points (6th) and shooting percentage (.429 - 5th).

A two-time ECC Rookie of the Week selection (Sept. 25-Oct.1, Oct. 9-15), Keem registered all 22 of his points in the final 10 games of the season, helping Daemen to a 5-5 record in those contests. He posted two multi-goal games and five games with three or more points. Keem was also named the Division II Hero of the Week by herosports.com in mid October.

Keem's offensive output helped Daemen rank third in total goals (39) and fourth in goals per game (2.17) among ECC teams this season. After posting just three multi-goal games in 2016, Daemen had 11 this season and their 39 goals marked the team's highest total since 2011 (43).
