AMHERST, N.Y. - Men's basketball player Gerald Beverly (Rochester, N.Y./Gates Chili) and women's soccer player Juli Prentice (Dryden, N.Y./Dryden) have been named the Bedore Tours Student-Athletes of the Month for November.

Beverly, a 6-foot-7 senior forward, helped the Wildcats and first-year bench boss Mike MacDonald get off to a 3-2 start to their 2014-15 season last month.  Through five games this season, the East Coast Conference Co-Preseason Player of the Year is averaging 18.4 points, 10.4 rebounds and 3.6 blocks per game while shooting 59-percent from the field and 77-percent from the free throw line.

Beverly opened the regular season by earning M.V.P. honors at the Knee Center of WNY / ECC-CACC Challenge after leading the Wildcats to home-court wins over Concordia College (N.Y.) and Post University, including a 23-point, nine-rebound performance in the latter of the two.  Since then, he's racked up three straight double-doubles, giving him 31 for his career.  He's also now scored in double figures in 35-straight games while recording at least one blocked shot in 38-straight games.

In Daemen's 79-72 win over Dominican College (N.Y.) last Sunday, the Wildcats' 38th consecutive home victory, Beverly was especially dominant, finishing with a season-high 26 points, a career-high 18 rebounds and seven blocks.  He moved past 2006 graduate Ron Wright as the program's all-time leader in blocks with 238 to his credit to date.

In addition to his prowess at the start of the regular season, Beverly also recorded 20 points, nine rebounds and four blocks in Daemen's historic 83-81 overtime win vs. NCAA Division I Canisius College in an exhibition matchup back on Nov. 11.

Prentice, a 5-foot-6 senior midfielder, helped the women's soccer team to a 2-2 record last month with both wins coming at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Championships, helping the Wildcats advance to their third-straight USCAA title game.

Prentice notched her second goal of the season in Daemen's 2-0 defeat of sixth-seeded Carlow University on Nov. 6.  She followed that up by registering the lone tally in the Wildcats' 1-0 shutout of No. 2 SUNY-Environmental Science and Forestry in the semifinal round, sending Daemen back to the championship game.

Despite missing four games early in the year with an injury, Prentice, the team's co-captain, finished as the team leader in goals (3) this season.
