Roehling joined the Daemen Athletic Department in August 2010 with prior athletic training experience, primarily working as an outreach athletic trainer in high school settings. A native of Western New York, Roehling grew up in Newfane, N.Y. and earned a Bachelor’s Degree at Ithaca College in Athletic Training/Exercise Science in 1995. In 2000, she added Master’s Degree from Canisius College. In addition to her athletic training certification, Roehling is a certified Performance Enhancement Specialist and Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine as well as being Sportsmetric ACL prevention certified through Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center. From 1996–99, Roehling worked in Toledo, Ohio, assisting at a physical therapy clinic and sport medicine physician office in addition to being the athletic trainer at Start High School. In 1999, she returned to the Western New York area, taking a position with Catholic Health AthletiCare. While there, she was contracted to provide athletic training coverage at Kenmore West High School and also served as manager of AthletiCare sports outreach department, overseeing 20 other high school/small college athletic training contracts and a staff of 25 certified athletic trainers. In addition to her duties as assistant athletic trainer, Roehling is an adjunct faculty member within the healthcare studies and athletic training programs here at Daemen. She also serves the Athletic Department as its senior woman administrator.
