Royal Park
Located less than two miles from Daemen University's Amherst campus, Royal Park is a nine-acre public park that recently underwent a nearly $10 million improvement project focused on upgrading and increasing the variety of facilities available for use by Town of Amherst residents and Daemen University Athletics. Royal Park features include a multi-use, synthetic turf field built to meet NCAA Division II standards with a new field house building that includes locker rooms, athletic training room, storage space, concessions & ticket office, public handicap accessible multi-use restrooms and family toilet room. The project also added six tennis courts; two pickleball courts, a splash pad, shelter/picnic pavilion and a walking path with provisions for future adult fitness trail. An existing inclusive playground constructed in 2018 was relocated inside the park, with additional climber play equipment installed.Â
The Royal Park Improvement Project was developed collaboratively with Daemen University and the Amherst Community through a variety of community meetings. Upon its opening in Spring 2025, Royal Park became the home venue for Daemen men's and women's soccer, tennis and women's lacrosse.Â
