Chelsea Andorka (Canton, Ohio/Notre Dame College) paced a balanced attack with 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists and five steals, as the Daemen College women's basketball team rolled to a 97-46 victory over Fleming College (Ont.) tonight at DC's Lumsden Gymnasium.
Daemen improved to 2-0 with the win, while it marked the season-opener for the Knights.

Ellie Allen (Amherst, N.Y./Sweet Home) totaled a double-double (16 pts, 10 rebs), while junior point guard
Lindsay Stoddard (Limestone, N.Y./Allegany-Limestone) connected on 7-of-9 shots and totaled 16 points, five assists and seven steals. Freshmen
Raeann Stilwell (Cheektowaga, N.Y./St. Mary's of Lancaster) turned in second-straight solid effort off the bench with four three-pointers, 15 points, three assists and three steals. Senior
Lia Zahn (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua), who scored a career-high 20 points in a season-opening win Wednesday, added 11 points and five boards.
Junior Ruth Holland (Peterborough, Ont.) scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Knights, while senior Kelly Killoran (Sarnia, Ont.) canned five three-pointers and totaled 15 points for the visitors.
Daemen jumped out to an 11-6 lead, but the Knights countered with a 13-4 run over a four minute span. Killoran drained two three pointers during the run and a layup by sophomore Alyssa Edmonds (Perth, Ont.) with 12:04 left before intermission capped the run and gave
the Knights a 19-15 lead.
Daemen got a three-pointer from Zahn on its next possession and back-to-back layups by sophomore
Jordyn Broas (Tonawanda, N.Y./Kenmore East) and senior
Samantha Stanfield (Brooklyn, N.Y./James Madison) gave the Wildcats a 22-19 lead. A bucket by Fleming's Alicia Costain (Peterborough, Ont.) cut the lead two a point, but another triple by Zahn sparked the Wildcats on a 9-0 run that gave the hosts a 31-21 lead with just over eight minutes left in the half. Fleming pulled to within six points (38-32) late in the half, but the hosts had one more 11-2 run left in them and took their largest lead of the half, 49-34, following a layup by Stoddard with four seconds left.
Fleming scored the first basket in the second half, but the visitors went scoreless over the next seven minutes, which allowed Daemen to build its lead to 32 points (68-36).
Daemen's defensive pressure resulted in 26 steals for the hosts and 34 turnovers by the Knights, which Daemen converted into 45 points. Fleming shot 43-percent (13-30) in the first half, including 8-of-12 from beyond the arc, but shot just 17-percent (5-30) from the field in the second half and connected on just 1-of-12 three-pointers.
Daemen was 11-for 32 from three-point land and out-rebounded the Knights 63-37 (including a 26-6 edge in offensive rebounds). The Wildcats held a 48-6 advantage in points in the paint.
The two teams will square off again tomorrow (10/27). Game time is 2 p.m. at Lumsden Gymnasium.
