Women's Bowling 11/15/2017 9:19:00 PM By Mike Miranto, Sr. Associate A.D. for External Operations & Communications Women's Bowling Improves To 13-3 With Sweep Of Hilbert HAMBURG, N.Y. - The Daemen College women's bowling team continued its fast start to the 2017-18 season by sweeping a three-match head-to-head series vs. Hilbert College this evening at Braymiller's Lanes. The Wildcats won a pair of total pinfall matches, 859-657 and 885-594, before finishing off the sweep with a 732-621 win in a Baker format total pinfall match. Daemen, which is off to the best start in team history, improved to 13-3 this season with tonight's victories. The Wildcats did not post their 13th win last season until March 5, ultimately finishing at 16-25. The Wildcats also improved to 5-0 against Hilbert this season. The teams had previously met twice at the Medaille Invitational on Nov. 4-5 at Classic Lanes. Hilbert, an NCAA Division III program and affiliate of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, dropped to 5-18 this season. In the opening match of the night, Daemen was led by sophomore Katie Good (Hamburg, N.Y.) and freshman Katlyn Newberry (Rochester, N.Y.) who posted rounds of 214 and 206, respectively. Newberry went on to post a round of 199 in the second Daemen win this evening. She was aided by classmates Madison Rogacki (Cheektowaga, N.Y.) and Alex Hasiotis (Rochester, N.Y.) who scored 209 and 204, respectively. In the Baker format match, Hasiotis posted a team-best 15.5 pins-per-frame scoring average.
