Women's Bowling 11/19/2017 5:32:00 PM By Mike Miranto, Sr. Associate A.D. for External Operations & Communications Wildcats Take 2 Of 3 From Roberts Wesleyan KENMORE, N.Y. - The Daemen College women's bowling team walked away with two wins in three total matches today against Roberts Wesleyan College at Kenmore Lanes. The Wildcats posted back-to-back wins in total pinfall matches (850-810 and 791-756) before the Redhawks avoided the sweep with a 4-3 win in a best-of-seven Baker format series (132-156, 153-148, 159-162, 200-156, 187-164, 167-204, 170-154). The results today push Daemen's record to 15-4 this season. The Wildcats are one win shy of their total from all of last season when they posted a 16-25 mark. RWC moved to 10-13 on the season. Sophomore Rachel Steele (Rensselaer, N.Y.) returned to the lineup after a three-match hiatus and posted a team-best round of 190 in today's opening match. She was backed up by classmate Katie Good (Hamburg, N.Y.) and freshman Katlyn Newberry (Rochester, N.Y.) who each registered rounds of 172. Newberry came back with a team-best 187 in today's second Daemen win. In the best-of-seven Baker series, freshman Adrianna Pencek (Dunkirk, N.Y.) led the way for Daemen with a 18.35 pins-per-frame scoring average. Steele was next with a 16.14 average. The Wildcats and Redhawks were meeting for the second time this month. They had previously split two matchups at the Medaille Invitational which was held Nov. 4-5. Daemen is 3-2 against the Redhawks this season, while also owning an 8-3 edge in the all-time series.
