Wildcat Keglers Fall To Medaille Mavericks

KENMORE, N.Y. – The Daemen College women's bowling team returned to action tonight since they claimed its first tournament championship last weekend, dropping both matches in a head-to-head dual vs. crosstown rival Medaille College at Kenmore Lanes.  The Wildcats dropped the opening match 1045-929, and the Mavericks finished things off by taking a best-of-seven Baker Series 4-3 (135-210, 169-146, 188-215, 195-211, 187-163, 162-149, 226-182).

Freshman Adrianna Peneck (Dunkirk, N.Y.), sophomores Katie Good (Hamburg, N.Y.) and Rachel Steele (Rensselaer, N.Y.) paced the Wildcats in the opening match.  Peneck posted a team-best round of 222, while Good and Steele earned scores of 203 and 204 respectively in the first match.

Tonight's results push Daemen's season record to 24-8; the Wildcats have already established a new team record for wins in a season.  The Mavericks and Wildcats have met six times this season, and Medaille has prevailed in five of the previous six meetings.

Medaille, a member of the NCAA Division III and the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, moved to 51-32 on the season following tonight's matches.

Daemen returns to tournament play this weekend at the Molloy College Lion Invitational in Plainview, N.Y.
