AMHERST, N.Y. - The Daemen College women's basketball team is ranked No. 9 in the Division II Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA) East Region media poll for week one of the 2019-20 which was released today.

The Wildcats, who were ranked No. 9 in the preseason version of the regional poll, have now been ranked in four successive polls. The team made their first-ever appearance in the regional poll last February during their 18-10 campaign. Daemen has gotten off to a 3-1 start this season. They posted sizable wins last weekend over Bloomfield College (83-48) and Concordia College (N.Y.) (70-47) as part of the Redhawks Alumni Classic hosted by Roberts Wesleyan College. Daemen's lone setback this year came against regionally-ranked Stonehill College (77-70) in their season opener on Nov. 8. Stonehill is tied for fifth in this week's poll.

The Wildcats have featured a balanced attack so far this season with all five starters averaging at least 8.5 points per game. Sophomore forward Katie Titus scored a season-high 20 points in the win over Bloomfield, and is averaging a team-high 14.5 points per game. Junior forward Caroline White (Fairport, N.Y.) is also producing offensively (12.5 ppg) while leading the team in rebounding (7.3 rpg) and assists (14). Newcomer Ashli Jeune (Westampton, N.J.), a transfer from Division I UNC-Wilmington, has made an immediate impact by producing 10.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.0 steals per game.

Daemen makes their home debut this Wednesday, Nov. 20 when they host regionally-ranked Edinboro University (No. 6 Atlantic Region) for a 6 p.m. tip-off.
