AMHERST, N.Y. – On Thursday, August 1, more than 115 participants joined the Daemen College Athletic Department at beautiful Glen Oak Golf Club for the Seventh Annual Wildcat Golf Classic presented by RP Oak Hill Building Company, Inc. Since its inception in 2013, the Wildcat Golf Classic has developed 10130into the largest and most important fundraising event of the year for Daemen Athletics, adding more than $300,000 to the department's external revenue coffers.  This year's event, which also featured a basket raffle and silent auction, raised over $38,000 which will make a direct impact on the experience of student-athletes across Daemen's 17 intercollegiate athletic programs.

"We are incredibly grateful for the support of so many local businesses and corporate partners, as well as the record number of individual golfers who chose to invest in Western New York's Division II athletics program. It was certainly a great day to be on the golf course," said Traci Murphy, director of athletics.

"The dollars raised at this year's golf outing will help us complete some ongoing facility upgrades within our athletics complex as we continue to meet the needs of today's student-athletes. Events like the Wildcat Golf Classic are only growing in importance, and I'd be remiss if I didn't recognize our Daemen Athletics staff for all the work they've done behind the scenes that went into making it a successful day. That especially includes Vivian Heverley and Chad Van Every who continue to embrace the challenge of running such a large-scale event because they understand the impact it has on our student-athletes."

In addition to 18 holes of golf in a four-man scramble format, participants were treated to lunch and dinner as well as beverages on the course throughout the day. Participants included Daemen fans, supporters, coaches, administrators, faculty and alumni.
