Student-Athlete Spotlight: Aryana Dreyer

Throughout the fall semester, daemenwildcats.com will feature a Student-Athlete Spotlight series to introduce you to current student-athletes from the college's 17 varsity athletic teams. Today's featured student-athlete is Aryana Dreyer of the women's soccer team.

ARYANA DREYER QUICK BIO

Aryana Dreyer is a senior midfielder on the Daemen women's soccer team. Over the past three seasons, Dreyer has appeared in 41 contests and made four starts while helping the Wildcats achieve a 28-19-5 overall record. Dreyer picked up the primary assist on Kaylyn Phillips' game-winning goal in overtime at St. Thomas Aquinas on Sept. 16, 2017. She recorded a career-high two assists during the 2019 season in which the Wildcats made their NCAA tournament debut.

A native of Orchard Park, N.Y. and graduate of Orchard Park High School, Dreyer is studying adolescent education with a specialization in social studies.

QUESTION & ANSWER

My favorite thing about soccer is being able to meet new people from all around the world and playing a sport we all love no matter how different our backgrounds are. Soccer is such a thinking game as well, and everyone has to work as a unit.

Aryana Dreyer on her favorite thing about soccer

A: The earliest memory I have playing soccer is my first game ever when I was eight years old, and I scored a goal.
A: My high school teachers and the professors here at Daemen, because they are the main reason why I've chosen to pursue social studies adolescent education as my major and future career.

A: When I came for my overnight visit!
A: Katja Meyer, Serena Uhl and Grace Stranahan. We love watching The Bachelorette together and getting Mexican food.

A: Carli Lloyd. She was just a huge inspiration to me growing up because she is an amazing soccer player who works hard and is dedicated to the sport.
A: Coach Dolan emphasizes for us to enjoy every day and not to take the years we have here for granted because they go by so quickly.

A: The Buffalo Bills and the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team. My favorite player is Lionel Messi.
A: Any of the political science courses, but right now I am taking a seminar of the presidency and it is really interesting and informative, especially given our current political climate.

A: I do not have any pets.
A: My most memorable vacation was when I went to Rome and Venice. I definitely plan to visit Australia sometime in the future.
A: I see myself having my own high school classroom, being a U.S. history teacher and coaching the girls varsity soccer team for whatever school I am at.
