The three-day tournament was hosted by Bethune-Cookman University, and featured 11 competing teams. Daemen, one of just three non-Division I teams in the field, claimed ninth place in the final tournament standings. Daemen started the day with an 894-852 defeat of St. Francis College-Brooklyn, the final traditional total pinfall match of the tournament's round robin schedule. The win gave Daemen a 4-6 record through the tournament's round robin format. Freshman Caitlyn Nowak (West Seneca, N.Y.) led the way by rolling a 226 - her second 200+ game of the tournament. Classmate Paige Bartosz (West Seneca, N.Y.) rolled a 191 and junior Alex Syrotynski (East Greenbush, N.Y.) fired a 190. The tournament then shifted to positional rounds that featured a Baker best-of-seven format. Daemen defeated tournament host Bethune-Cookman in six games (154-121, 149-126, 145-147, 126-166, 146-140, 178-134), rallying for consecutive wins after BCU evened the match at two games apiece. The eighth-place match then featured Daemen and St. Francis-Brooklyn with the Terriers earning the win in five games (192-216, 210-180, 142-129), 202-145, 201-154). Today's results send Daemen's season record to 37-33 as they establish a new program record for wins a season. The previous record of 35 wins came during the 2017-18 season. Daemen had tied the record with their 910-880 defeat of Western New York rival Medaille College during yesterday's tournament action. Daemen's 2019-20 roster includes six players - Syrotynksi, Alex Hasiotis (Rochester, N.Y.), Katlyn Newberry (Rochester, N.Y.), Adrianna Pencek (Dunkirk, N.Y.), Megan Kidder (Akron, N.Y.) and Katie Good (Hamburg, N.Y.) - who were also members of the 2017-18 squad. Daemen will return to tournament action a week from today (Sunday, Feb. 16) at the Brother Patrick Lacey Memorial Tournament hosted by St. Vincent College in Greensburg, Pa.
