Daemen Tops SNHU To Claim ECC League of Legends Championship

5/3/2020 6:30:00 PM

West Babylon, N.Y. - Daemen defeated Southern New Hampshire, 3-0, on Friday evening to claim the East Coast Conference's League of Legends Championship. The Wildcats finish the season 8-1 and earn their first title. Southern New Hampshire, who finished as the league's runner-up for the second straight season, finished with a 7-2 mark on the season.

Game One
Game one started off with a bang as Daemen's ADC Virrx1 played outstanding with a final score of 11/0/4. His positioning and sheer damage gave Daemen a clear advantage in the early and mid-game. With SNHU's late-game scaling champions, Daemen made sure to capitalize on their early lead. Toplaner Stany was a huge threat with Sett as his macro play on the bottom side gave Daemen the Baron. Stany and the jungler  FallenConscript were able to push their way into SNHU's team and prevent them from being a threat to their backline.

Game Two

The start of game two was heavily in favor of SNHU as their support Paincakeman landed several hooks with Thresh to give their team an easy pick. It seemed as if ADC Bornstellar and Paincakeman were about to completely shut down Daemen's ADC Virrx1, however, Virrx1 came out on top in a crucial team fight with a triple kill. Even in a disadvantageous 4v5 fight, Virrx1 was able to flash away from Malphite's ultimate and midlaner Anti was able to split SNHU's team in half. With the game now in Daemen's hands, toplaner Stany was able to rush his way into the backline with Kled and wipe out SNHU's fed ADC.

Game Three

In game three, Daemen amassed a huge early game lead with their toplaner Stany bullying the lane with his Fiora. This gave Daemen great control over early objectives such as dragons, turrets, and Rift Hearld. The double teleport from Stany and midlaner Anti were underestimated as Daemen were able to force favorable fights.  In the mid-game, SNHU clawed their way back up by punishing the aggressive and overextended Stany. SNHU's great coordination gave way for their comeback as midlaner TheRavensNest started picking up the pace with Yasuo. Followed by ADC Bornsteller's great use of Kai'Sa's ultimate, SNHU was able to pick off the backline of Daemen. However, all was in vain as Anti was able to completely obliterate SNHU's team with his Veigar. Combined with Stany's aggressive Fiora powering his way into the damage of SNHU, Daemen closed the game with an undisputed 3-0.
