Daemen Women's Basketball Head Coach Jenepher Banker Quotes
January 24, 2021 – D'Youville Postgame

On playing two games in a weekend for the first time this season...
"This is the first weekend we played two games in a weekend. So you're never really quite sure where your legs are, but I thought our team did a great job of going as hard as they could and then having somebody come in and go hard too, and we were able to keep the pace up. So yeah, I was really happy with that."

On continuation of offensive success from Friday night's game...
"We don't spend a lot of time talking about offense. Honestly, we talk about executing on offense, but we spend more time on 'let's get the job done on the defensive end', and that'll start our offense."

On using defense to start offense...
"I don't think we did a great job the other night with some of the little things on the defensive end. So, at times, we were able to fix that tonight. And yeah, then then it gives you opportunity to get out in transition."

On the 12-rebound, six-assist outing by Mickayla Ivy...
"Mick's done a great job this year. Again, Mick is a lot like [Caroline] and [Tiara] in the fact that when she's on the court Mickey works really hard. Same thing in practices, she works really hard all the time. And the other thing again, with Mickey with [Tiara] and [Caroline], she actually can play multiple positions. So, she can defend multiple positions, she can play multiple positions on the offensive end. She knows her job and does her job well."

On the steadiness of Autumn Buchsenschutz off the bench...
"Autumn easily, easily could be starting too you know? Great player. She's willing to do whatever we need her to do to help this team win. But yeah, she does a great job. Sometimes maybe she doesn't get the credit that she deserves for all the things that she does. It's awesome because I know always that we have a point guard coming off the bench that is a really good player."

On the Bills-Chiefs AFC Championship Game...
"Oh, Bills all the way!"
