Daemen Women's Basketball Head Coach Jenepher Banker Quotes
January 31, 2021 – Gannon Postgame

On the differences between Friday's win and today's loss, both vs. Gannon...
"It was honestly a fairly similar game. I just thought they came ready to revenge the loss and I didn't think we matched it."

On losing senior forward Caroline White to an injury in the first half...
"Whether it's heart, defense, offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds, scoring, [Caroline] just just with her work ethic, her energy, her work ethic, no matter what she will keep working till the end. And yeah, that hurt us in a big way. What we needed to do was respond as a team to that loss and I didn't feel like we did that."

On how the team responded to the game's physicality...
"I don't think they dealt with it well. I thought we dealt with it well on Friday night. We just battled right back on Friday night. I don't think we battled as hard tonight."

On this being the team's toughest offensive game of the season so far...
"Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. And not only that, but you know, we got the looks that we wanted early. And, that's where I just don't think that we really mentally were locked in where we needed to be locked in because I think we make those shots when we're locked in, and we didn't. And then everything becomes a struggle. It was just one of those games where no matter what we do, every everything becomes a struggle. And I don't think we ever found our flow the entire night."

On the team's 20-game home winning streak being snapped...
"Yeah, it's super frustrating. I mean, that's super frustrating that we don't defend the home court the way we should. So yeah, that's frustrating. Gannon is a good team. I don't want to take anything away from Gannon, but we didn't protect the home court today."

On teachable moments from today's game...
"You got to learn. You got to learn, right? You got to get back up and you got to learn from your mistakes and you got to get better. I mean, we need to be better. We need to keep getting better. We've got a long way to go. So, we need to learn from what we did wrong and we need to be better."
