WASHINGTON, D.C.- Daemen traveled to Washington D.C. to take on undefeated conference foe District of Columbia Friday morning. The Wildcats were defeated 7-0. Daemen's record is now 3-6 overall with a 1-3 record in the conference. District of Columbia remains undefeated at 8-0 and 4-0 in the conference.
Despite today's loss, the Wildcats remain in the hunt for their second consecutive conference tournament berth. Additional results from around the conference could put Daemen in position to secure a tournament berth Tuesday, October 26th, home against local conference rival D'youville in the regular season finale.Â
Doubles ReportÂ
Frida Rubio (San Diego, Calif.) and Kitsa Scime (Williamsville, N.Y.) paired up on the first doubles court, losing by a score of 6-2. Yinett Del Leon (Cape Coral, FL.) paired up with Mackenzie Schayes (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) on the second court while Hannah Pagano (Goshen, N.Y.) and Ailish McDevitt (Jamesville, N.Y.) were on duo on the third court. Daemen was defeated in both the second and third doubles matches as well.Â
Singles Report
The Wildcats lost the six dual points available on the singles courts. Scime battled but ultimately was defeated 6-3,6-3 on the second singles court.Â
Looking Forward
The penultimate game of the regular season for the Wildcats will take place Saturday, October 23rd away against Bloomsburg (0-2).
