Daemen Announces Spectator Policy For Outdoor Events 3/24/2021 1:00:00 PM AMHERST, N.Y. - In accordance with directives from the both the New York State and Erie County Departments of Health, Daemen College is not yet able to permit any spectators at home sporting events held at outdoor venues due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This primarily affects upcoming men's and women's soccer contests at Karrer Field, and may apply to future men's and women's tennis matches. Since returning teams to competition in mid-January, Daemen has consistently followed the guidance from state and local health authorities. While the leadership of the Division of Athletics remains optimistic that this policy could change over the coming weeks, at this time the college is bound by obligations to disallow spectators at it continues to prioritize the health and safety of each team's Tier 1 personnel. There will be signage at home soccer games alerting potential spectators to this policy. Any spectator who approaches the field will be politely reminded of the policy and asked to vacate the area. All home soccer games are available via live streaming on the ECC Network. Plans are also in the works to be able to stream select men's and women's tennis matches this spring.
