Women's Basketball Game Times & Additional NCAA Tournament Information Announced

AMHERST, N.Y. - The NCAA Division II Women's Basketball East Regional will be held at Lumsden Gymnasium on the campus of Daemen College beginning Friday, March 12 and concluding Monday, March 15 with the crowning of a regional champion. Game times and broadcast information for the East Regional were announced today.

The East Regional features five games - two regional quarterfinals, two regional semfinals and the regional championship - and six of the 48 teams from around the country that were announced last evening as NCAA tournament participants. Daemen, which claimed the No. 2 seed in the East Region, will make its NCAA tournament debut at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 13 with a regional semifinal contest against the winner of Friday's quarterfinal matchup between third-seeded Georgian Court and sixth-seeded Concordia (N.Y.).

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, no spectators are permitted in attendance at the East Regional. 

Each game of the East Regional will also feature live stats and a live stream broadcast available on the ECC Network - the official digital streaming network of the East Coast Conference and Daemen College.. Additional information can be found at the East Regional central webpage.

The East Regional is one of eight regional tournaments that will be held across the country this week. Each regional championship team will advance to the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Elite Eight, featuring the national quarterfinals, semifinals and finals at the Greater Columbus (Ohio) Convention Center from March 23-26. 

Daemen will enter NCAA tournament play with a 12-2 record and winners in 27 of their last 31 contests dating back to last season. Led by head coach Jenepher Banker, the Wildcats went unbeaten with a 9-0 mark in East Coast Conference play, capturing their second straight regular season conference title. They'll take the floor Saturday exactly one year to the day from when they were scheduled to make their first-ever NCAA tournament appearance before the event was cancelled due to COVID-19.
