AMHERST, N.Y. - Daemen College Director of Athletics Traci Murphy has been selected to serve on the Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) Board of Directors for the 2021-22 academic year, officials from the organization announced today. The D2 ADA is the first of its kind to provide educational and networking opportunities, enhancement of acceptable operating standards and ethics and establishment of the overall prestige and understanding of the profession of Division II athletics directors.

Murphy will represent the East Coast Conference and is one of 22 directors of athletics named to the Board of Directors today, along with the organization's top-level leadership. Bren Stevens, vice president and director of athletics at the University of Charleston (W.Va.), will serve as President.

The 2021-22 academic year will mark Murphy's fourth leading the burgeoning Division of Athletics at Daemen. Since being appointed in 2018, Murphy has overseen teams that have produced 14 top-three conference finishes, four regular season conference championships, two conference tournament titles and seven NCAA tournament berths. Most recently, Murphy guided the division through the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic with 14 of Daemen's 17 intercollegiate athletic programs returning to competition, including the men's and women's basketball programs which won their respective NCAA Division II East Region championships.
