AMHERST, N.Y. - The Daemen College Division of Athletics will welcome fans to athletic events during the 2021-22 season, and announced an updated spectator policy with regard to COVID-19 today.
All fans, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear a mask or facial covering when attending indoor sporting events at Lumsden Gymnasium (volleyball/basketball).
For indoor tennis matches at Miller Tennis Center, all unvaccinated spectators must wear a mask or facial covering. Vaccinated individuals are not required to wear a mask at this time.
With the women's bowling schedule still being finalized, guidance for bowling spectators will be announced at a later time.
For outdoor sporting events at Karrer Field (soccer), Williamsville South High School (tennis) and Bassett Park (cross country), fans may attend without masks or facial coverings. However, fans are strongly encouraged to wear a mask and observe social distancing while in attendance, in accordance with directives from the Erie County Department of Health.
Signage will be posted at each athletics venue to further outline COVID-19 safety measures.
Daemen College remains committed to the health and safety of all student-athletes, coaches and team personnel, as well as the greater campus community. The Division of Athletics, in conjunction with Daemen's overall COVID-19 policies, will continue to observe all local and state guidelines, as well as those of the East Coast Conference and National Collegiate Athletic Association.
